Why We Need Leaders | August 31st 2025
What kind of impact is your life leaving on others? Every disciple of Jesus is called to grow in leadership—not just those with formal titles, but anyone who takes responsibility for the good of others. Leadership in God’s kingdom is never about power or self-promotion; it’s about serving. If a leader brings about change, then more leaders can bring about more change. Jesus redefined leadership when He said, “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” To lead like Jesus is to see the needs around us and lay aside our preferences so that others can flourish in Him. If we’re going to turn the Bay Area of Houston upside down, then we as a people need to be ready to be sent into the places God calls us. Whether in parenting, in the workplace, or in everyday relationships, leadership is part of our calling. The real question is—are we leading for ourselves, or for the sake of others, like Jesus did? And are we willing to put our “yes” on the table when He calls?
You can join our OneLife Sunday morning gatherings via livestream at 8:45am and 10:30am CST every Sunday morning. Or if you’re local to the Bay Area of Houston, we’d love to have you join us in person Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 8:45am, 10:30am, and 12:30pm!

At OneLife, we want to be and make disciples of Jesus who love God, one another, and our world. We are God’s people making much of Jesus in everyday life for the good of the neighborhoods in the Bay Area of Houston and beyond.
