Anticipating Christ - Two Kingdoms in Conflict - Brian Barr

As followers of Jesus, we live at war between the kingdom of this present age, led by our enemy Satan, and the Kingdom of God. So how should we orient ourselves to live in this moment in time? This week, Brian Barr continued our Advent series, “Anticipating Christ”. As Christians we have been transferred from the kingdom of this age into the Kingdom of God; so by default we have been inserted into this war. We live paradoxical lives where we experience the sorrow and devastation of this world, but also experience the growth of God’s kingdom as it breaks into our everyday life. So how should we live in light of this? Peter tells us to “live holy and godly lives as we look forward to the day of God.” God wants us to be active participants in this war. We have been set apart from the evil of this world to display the beauty of King Jesus to a broken and lost word.
