Why does Jesus call His followers to be people who radically forgive the offenses that people commit against them? Jesus isn't callous to our pain and suffering, but He knows that refusing to forgive will lead to bitterness, and bitterness will hold us captive. Followers of Jesus have been radically forgiven by God for all of their sins, a much greater debt than we can imagine. God's forgiveness empowers us to walk in freedom and radically forgive others.
