Galatians: Walk with the Spirit: The Fight

Every Christian is in a fight. Galatians 5 exposes the conflict taking place within every believer: the flesh pulls us toward self-rule, while the Spirit leads us into the life and freedom of Christ. The battle is real, but so is the victory God provides. Verse 16 says, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” It’s only through the Holy Spirit that we are empowered to fight the war of sin in our lives. Victory isn’t found in our own strength and competencies, but in deeper dependence on the One who loved us, gave Himself for us, and now lives in us by His Spirit.
