The Gospel of Mark: True Discipleship

How do we know if we are true disciples of Jesus? How do we know if we have truly repented and believed in the gospel? This week, Chris Nagel brought us back to our Mark series, looking at chapter 9 where Jesus teaches about the heart of a true disciple. True disciples seek true greatness in God’s eyes, not the appearance of greatness. True disciples are much more concerned about their own allegiance to Jesus than about policing everyone else’s. And true disciples are not casual about sin, but fight sin ruthlessly in their lives. Jesus’ words and warnings in this passage help us see the true state of our own hearts so that we can repent and realign our lives with Him.
